Approximately 8 x 11" antique print of 'The Boston Tarbaby' Sam Langford. The print was issued in 1910 as part of a series of supplements by the fistic publication "Boxing" and has since been laid down to a piece of card. At the bottom it reads "Sam Langford - Johnson's rival for the Heavyweight Championship of the World". Ironically fellow black fighter Jack Johnson would never allow Langford - or any other member of his own race - to challenge him for the world title. In very good condition with a couple of small corner creases and minor soiling.
