Scarce 3.5" x 5.5" promotional photo of Hogan 'Kid' Bassey, signed and inscribed, "To Mr Wilson, wishing you good health & the BEST always, Hogan". Peter Wilson was a renowned British sports journalist, who primary passion was boxing, on which his authority was widely respected. The photo originates from the personal collection of Peter Wilson. Very good condition: minor soiling and handling wear. Bassey was the British Empire Featherweight Champion and in 1957 became Nigeria's first ever World Champion at the same weight. He was awarded an MBE after his world title victory.
