A scarce on-site program from the Polo Grounds, New York where defending Heavyweight Champion Jack Dempsey met the first Latin American challenger in history in front of 80,000 spectators. In a classic encounter, the two fighters traded knockdowns, including the historic moment Firpo knocked Dempsey through the ropes in round two (the image famously captured by artist George Bellows). Dempsey rallied, stopping Firpo before the conclusion of the second round.
The program is in remarkably good condition for its age. It has a faint centre crease, a tiny edge chip missing from the front cover and a couple of small tears to the bottom of the rear cover. Collectors will struggle to find a better example.
