Single page typed letter, signed "Buddy Baer" in blue ballpoint pen. Buddy was a former Heavyweight contender, with wins over Tony Galento & Lee Savold and lost in both his attempts at wrestling the crown from Joe Louis. He was, of course, the brother of former Champion Max Baer, who always overshadowed his own achievements.
In the letter, Buddy politely declines (on health grounds) an invitation to an event in honour of his former manager Ancil Hoffman. Includes the original mailing envelope dated June 10th 1970. Both in excellent condition, although the letter appears to have been hand trimmed.
