A scarce on-site poster from Muhammad Ali's fight with Cleveland 'Big Cat' Williams at the Houston Astrodome. The Heavyweight Title fight took place on November 14, 1966 with Ali stopping Williams in the third round. Many boxing pundits believe this was Ali's finest professional performance. The young champion was enjoying his prime before his peak years were sadly cut short after his refusal to be drafted into the US Army. This stunning on-site poster measures 22" x 28". Printed on card-stock, the graphics remain as arresting as they would have been back in 1966. The two boxers are captured on a bright yellow background, with black & red text declaring "World's Heavyweight Championship - Champion - Challenger - 15 rounds". The poster is in excellent vintage condition with just minor cosmetic imperfections. Unobtrusive creasing to the upper corners, some light patches of soiling and a small abrasion near the lower border the only noteworthy flaws.
