1954 Tommy Farr handwritten & signed letter
A one page handwritten letter by British boxing great Tommy Farr. The letter was written in response to a note he'd received from Fred Milton in his role as columnist for the Sunday Pictorial. Dated the 24th July 1954, the letter informs Mr Milton that future fight schedules can be found in "Boxing News" every Friday and that he should drop him another line if he can help with his endeavors in any way. Signed "Thanks Tommy Farr" at the conclusion. Written in blue ink on Sunday Pictorial letterhead. Farr's column - which lasted until 1961 - and his ring return in the 1950's helped him settle debts which had seen him in court several times and left the boxer on the verge of bankruptcy. Very good condition with the original mailing folds.
