This is a beautiful looking vintage fight film poster for the World Heavyweight Championship bout between Joe Louis and Arturo Godoy at Madison Square Garden, April 20th 1940. Louis retained his crown by 8th round TKO after knocking down Godoy twice. The poster has been professionally linen backed. The overall condition is very good. A little restoration including a few small holes that have been filled in. The date of the film showings that was hand written across the top has also been painted over (just visible). A very attractive original Joe Louis poster.
