1948 Rocky Marciano New England AAU Boxing Championships on-site program
A very rare on-site program from the Boston Arena, March 22, 1948. A 24 year old Rocky Marchegiano competed in and won the Heavyweight class. In the final - and what would be his last amateur fight - Marciano outpointed George McInnis to win the New England AAU Heavyweight title. Marciano did not move on to the nationals because of a fractured thumb. He finished his amateur career with a record of either 9-4, with 7 knockouts. He would never lose another boxing match. The program is in G-VG condition. There is a central fold line. General handling wear and light soiling. Rusting to the staples. The original owner has made pen annotations to the program. Extremely hard to find piece of Marciano memorabilia.
