On June 14th 1934 at the Madison Square Garden Bowl in Long Island City, New York, heavyweight champion Primo Carnera defended his title against hard punching challenger Max Baer. Baer exposed Carnera, knocking him down ten times and stopping him in the 11th round to win the title. Artist Joseph Golinkin captured Baer's slaughter of Carnera in this graphic lithograph depicting a battered Carnera falling over the top rope. The litho is numbered 34 from a limited edition of 50 and is signed by Golinkin to the bottom right in pencil. It measures 19.5" x 23" in total, the size of the image area is 15.75" x 19". In good condition for it's age. There is a small tear/hole to the lower left border and general handling wear including a couple edge tears/creases. The image itself is excellent - this would frame up very nicely.
