1963 Cassius Clay v Henry Cooper on-site ticket
An on-site ticket from Cassius Clay's first fight with Great Britain's Henry Cooper. The contest took place on June 18, 1963 at Wembley Stadium, London. Cooper knocked Clay down in the 4th round, but the Louisville Lip regrouped and forced the stoppage in the fifth (aided by cuts to the prone Cooper). The ticket is illustrated with images of the two fighters and Jack Solomons on the front. A map of the venue is on the reverse. It's printed on thin paper stock. There are three fold lines - as is the norm with these paper tickets - and a couple of small corner creases. Two spots of faint soiling. Generally in good condition for its age/fragility. The stub has been removed.
