This is the original WBO Junior Featherweight Latino Belt won in 2006 by Juan Manuel Lopez. It has been acquired directly from Lopez through a mutual contact in Puerto Rico. Lopez defeated Jose Alonso by third round TKO to win the belt in Caguas, Puerto Rico on September 30, 2006. Lopez successfully defended the title four times. He relinquished the belt after winning the WBO Jr. Featherweight Title against Daniel Ponce De Leon in June 2008.
The belt has the central WBO design which reads "Latino Champion" around the organizations logo. It is flanked by two side panels. The left panel has Lopez's name engraved along with the weight category. The opposite side lists the location and date of the victory. Junma signed the belt for us. He added the inscription "WBO 122 & 126 pound Champion". He also added the date, location and opponent's name from when he won the belt. He signed in blue sharpie which doesn't show up great on the black leather, but is still fully legible. The belt is heavy at 3.25 kg and has a black leather finish with fur inner lining. It fastens at the back by Velcro. The condition is generally VG-EX. There's some wear to the panels, mainly the right one.
A rare opportunity to own a genuine WBO belt won by one of the most exciting fighters in recent years. Also included is an 8 x 10" color photo signed by Lopez and a LOA from BoxArt detailing the provenance behind the belt/guaranteeing its authenticity for life.
