On March 15, 2014 Juan Manuel Lopez moved up in weight to face old rival Daniel Ponce De Leon six years after their world title fight at Jr. Featherweight. The fight was for the WBO International Jr. Lightweight title. Lopez was knocked down in the second but rallied, dropping Ponce De Leon twice in the same round and forcing the referee to halt proceedings. Offered here are Lopez's 8oz gloves worn in the fight. They are black Cleto Reyes gloves as can be seen in the fight footage. Juanma Lopez #1 has been written in blue ink on the inside of the thumbs. There is leather loss caused by removal of the tape after the fight. The gloves show the expected fight use but remain in excellent condition. Felix Verdego has signed both the gloves (signed at a later date).
The gloves originate from an associate of Junama's in Puerto Rico. He has worked with many of the top Puerto Rican fighters including Miguel Cotto, Juanma Lopez and rising star Felix Verdego. Included is a LOA from the associate as well as a photo of him with Juanma. The gloves will also come with a LOA from BoxArt detailing the provenance and guaranteeing authenticity for life.
