Reigning Lightweight World Champion Jack McAuliffe defended his belt against Billy Myer at the Olympic Club, New Orleans on 5th September 1892. McAuliffe KO'd Myer in the 15th to retain his crown. Offered here is a rare, full on-site ticket from the Olympic Club. Measures approximately 2.5" x 5" and in excellent condition for its age. Has "Press" stamped in red on both sides of the ticket.
McAuliffe, known as 'The Napoleon of The Prize Ring', held the World Lightweight Championship from 1886 to 1893 and retired undefeated after his draw with Tommy Ryan in September 1897. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1995.
