Exceptionally rare original poster advertising Jack Johnson v Jim Jeffries in Reno, July 4th 1910. The poster appropriately bills the contest as the "The Incomparable Prize Fight". Jeffries - the 'White Hope' - was persuaded out of retirement to restore pride to the white race. Instead he was outclassed and eventually stopped by his much maligned opponent. The paper poster measures 10" x 14" and remains in surprisingly good condition for its age. There is an old moisture stain along the bottom edge and age toning throughout. Remarkably no tears and no significant creasing. As to be expected, the paper has become slightly brittle with age but remains complete.
