2002 Miguel Cotto fight worn & signed gloves v Juan Angel Macias
On 3rd May 2002 a young and undefeated Miguel Cotto (8-0) met Juan Angel Macias at Orleans Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas. Cotto stopped Macias in the seventh of a scheduled ten rounder. These are the 8oz Cleto Reyes professional boxing gloves worn by Cotto against Macias. He has signed them in silver paint pen. The gloves come with a signed LOA from an associate of Cotto's, who lives and works in Puerto Rico. He has worked with all the top Puerto Rican fighters including Cotto, Juanma Lopez and the upcoming Felix Verdego. We have also purchased numerous Juan Manuel Lopez fight worn items from the same source. Included with the sale is a photo of the associate wearing Cotto's fight worn robe from the Sugar Shane Mosley fight (which he previously sold). The gloves will also come with a LOA from ourselves detailing the provenance and guaranteeing authenticity for life. The gloves remain in excellent condition with laces intact. They show the expected fight use and minor leather loss from when the tape was removed. The signatures have bled a little from exposure to moisture at some stage. Very few Cotto fight worn items have come to market as he has most of them displayed in his home.
