1935 Joe Louis v Max Baer on-site boxing program
A rapidly rising Joe Louis met Max Baer at the Yankee Stadium, September 24, 1935. Allthough Baer had been knocked down only once before in his professional career, Louis dominated the former champion, knocking him out in fourth round. Unknowingly, Baer suffered from a unique disadvantage in the fight; earlier that evening, Louis had married Marva Trotter at a friend's apartment and was eager to end the fight in order to consummate the relationship! This is an official on-site program from the Yankee Stadium. In VG-EX condition with light center fold. Slightly dog eared bottom corners. Tiny piece missing from lower corner of the front cover. Clean and unscored with excellent binding. A very nice example of this scarce program.
