1993 Chris Eubank fight worn glove from Lindell Holmes fight (signed by Eubank & Nigel Benn)
On February 20, 1993 Chris Eubank retained his WBO Middleweight World Title by defeating American Lindell Holmes on points. The judges scored the fight 120-109, 117-112 and 116-114 in Eubank's favour. Offered here is the left hand BBE (Britannia Boxing Equipment) branded glove that Eubank used in the fight. The fight usage is authenticated by Eubank himself who signed the glove in silver paint pen with the inscription "These are the gloves used to box Lindell Holmes on the 20/2/1993 from Chris Eubank". Fight film corroborates that both fighters used red BBE gloves with a black wrist band in this fight. Closer inspection reveals that it's a 10 ounce glove and has cut strings, both indicative of a glove used in a professional fight, not sparring. The glove was later signed by Eubank's great rival, Nigel Benn who added "No 1!" after his autograph. Currently housed in a custom frame behind a perspex bubble.
