An original fight program from Cassius Clay's rematch with Sonny Liston. The fight was originally set for November 16th 1964, at the Boston Garden in Massachusetts. However, three days before the contest, Ali suffered a hernia causing the fight to be postponed. It was rescheduled for May 25, 1965 but as fears grew that the promoters were tied to organised crime, Boston pulled out of the fight. The promoters hurriedly settled on Lewiston, Maine, a mill town with a population of about 41,000 located 140 miles north of Boston. The fight infamously ended with the Phantom Punch controversy midway through the first round, with Clay retaining the Heavyweight Championship. This program is often referred to as the black version. It's generally in excellent, unfolded condition. There's a faint crease to the top corner. Tight binding and clean interior pages.
