This is an original WBO Heavyweight World Title Belt that was awarded to Lamon Brewster to commemorate his winning of the Heavyweight Championship in 2004. Brewster famously stopped Wladimir Klitschko in round five of their heavyweight showdown at the Mandalay Bay Casino, Las Vegas on the 10th April 2004.
The belt is made from maroon coloured leather with black fur inner lining. It has the central WBO World Champion emblem sitting in the middle of a world map. An eagle sits atop the globe, adorned with ruby and diamond coloured stones. There are two side panels, the left engraved "Relentless" Lamon Brewster Heavyweight Champion of the World. The right panel reads 'TKOs Wladimir Klitschko Round 5 April 10, 2004 Las Vegas, Nevada'. The belt weighs approximately 3.25 kg. The condition is VG-EX with minor soiling and slight age toning to the white lining. There is one ruby stone missing from the top left hand side. No major faults with the belt. Included is a copy of the original receipt from the Sam Simon auction at Christie's and a LOA from ourselves (BoxArt) guaranteeing its authenticity.

Provenance: The belt was acquired from the estate of Brewster's former manager and promoter Sam Simon (best known as co-creator of the Simpson's TV show) who passed away in 2015. Simon was a long time fan of boxing and even pursued a short amateur career, winning six out of nine fights. He was for eight years the manager of Lamon Brewster. He first met Brewster in 1997 and began managing him, helping him rise to the top of the WBO rankings. He considers guiding Brewster to his April 2004 victory over Wladimir Klitschko to win the vacant WBO Heavyweight Championship, with Klitschko the heavy favorite, to be amongst the greatest moments of his life. He was quoted as saying it "eclipsed everything he had achieved in a glittering 26-year showbiz career." Simon retired from boxing management soon after Brewster became WBO Heavyweight Champion, and as the murkier figures of boxing swooped in to wrestle control of Brewster's career.
